WCS Cosplay Preview - Setsuna

Hello, and sorry that it took so long. I had so much to do for my university... the heck, I didnt even notice that I got a Daily Deviation!!! Thanks so much for everybody who wrote me a comment or gave me a fav, I will try to response as soon as possible <33333 All of you are sooo great



So, besides that, lets go straight to presenting the cosplay:

We decided to make this version of Setsuna cause uniforms really suit me ;D and we made lots of them in the past, so it was a good basis to start. Although the uniform may seem quite simple it was really hard work, especially getting all the metal pieces clean handled.

I began making a new basic pattern for my body and sewed a nettle-sample to see, if everything fits and how the proportions had to be. Afterwards I made a new pattern in CAD and sewed a new sample. We have to admit... it took us 4 samples till we were where we wanted to be xDDD But with the perfect patterns, he could start sewing

After the cutting I started to create the embroidery by drawing a clean version of Kaori Yukis cross in Illustrator. Afterwards it had to be converted into a embroidery pattern and stiched on the fabric. It was the first time that we worked with more than one color for the embroidery, in fact there are three different types of threads involved.

As a new habit we began making the clothes wearable. All of them have useful closures, you can move your arms (which we couldnt do most of the times till now xDD) and we began sewing pockets instead of faking them... nah, we have done that before, but the movement-thing is completely new xD Aditionally we tried to make the costume as elaborate as possible sewing everything that was on the original and even more at the parts you dont see in the illustration.

At the end, we are really happy about the result. The buckle of the belt is still missing cause we couldnt find what we wanted to till now, but... we have still time (haha)
The costume was a lot harder to make than we imagined, especially getting everything clean, but we managed to make everything padded again and this piece is so well crafted, that we wouldnt be ashamed to sell it in a store next to other clothes xDD Aditionally, there are some little tricks sewed into the outfit which help us performing our skit, but we dont want to show this yet, you will hopefully see it on stage <3

So, thanks for tuning in, we will try to continue our work as good as we can and hopefully, there will be a new journal as soon as possible ^^ But since we know, that it could take time, we decided to show you a little detail of the next cosplay, rising the tension a little bit ^^

One more important thing: We decided to create a facebook-profile for our team as well (since nobody of us is on facebook private ;D) and... we just made it yesterday xDD Probably you will see updates there more often because we dont have the layout to look perfect there, so, please dont be afraid of adding us as a friend... since we dont have any friends till now ;_; only 5... great 5 friends... but only 5 xDD and it feels so lonely in the world wide web xDD so, the more friends we get the more we will be motivated to upload in shorter periods there so again, dont be afraid <3 (honestly we are more afraid of this facebook story xDD probably we`ll suck at writing on this page a lot xDD)
